Are saltwater fish hard to keep?

The following are the main reasons people do not succeed in keeping saltwater fish:

Improperly designed aquarium – With over 30 years experience in designing and maintaining our systems and systems done by others we know what works and what doesn’t.work.

We only use top quality, reliable equipment and design multi-stage filtration systems to insure a clean, stable and healthy environment for your fish.

Improper aquarium husbandry – Leave your aquarium in our capable hands and we will make sure your fish receive the care they deserve. If any issues should arise we will know how to properly diagnose and correct them.

Overfeeding – One of the top reasons why fish die!

People put more food in their tank or administer the food faster than their fish can consume it causing pockets of decaying food to quickly pollute the water killing their fish. This is why we go over the proper feeding technique with each and every client and will immediately notify any client who is overfeeding their tank.

Poor diet – Just like people, fish will succumb to disease more readily if their immune system is compromised. Marine fish are used to eating an abundant variety of fresh, nutrtitious foods in the wild which is why it is imperative that your fish have a well balanced diet of high quality foods.  We provide our clients with the highest quality food, which we deliver to their door.

How many fish can I keep in my tank?

The primary limiting factors are water quality, biological filtration capacity and space.

The better your filtration system the more fish you’ll be able to keep in your tank.

If you have an inadequately or improperly designed biological filter you will have ammonia and or nitrite issues.   High levels of either will quickly kill your fish but even trace levels will lead to stress and disease.

Keep in mind that the more fish you keep in your aquarium the more likely you are to have disease outbreaks and aggression problems.
